Description

Patagonia Men’s R1® TechFace Hoody

Like the sheep that inspired it, technical fleece has always been comfortable roaming the hills. But unlike sheep, you and your fleece will definitely mind when the weather gets cold, windy and wet. Extend your range with the new R1® TechFace Jacket. Its unique double-weave construction combines a durable face with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and a lofted interior into a single, high-performance material for better protection against the wind, precipitation and abrasion—ideal as a low-profile midlayer or as a light outer layer. The full center zip lets you dump heat at will; two handwarmer pockets are high and out of the way of a harness or waistbelt. The cuffs are sleek, stretchy and low-profile to avoid snagging, and the cord-lock hem seals out drafts.

  • Lightweight double-weave fabric is soft and warm next to skin but doesn’t trap heat; face is durable and treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to shed moisture
  • Stretch fabric and design supports a wide range of movement
  • Two welted high handwarmer pockets have clean-finished zipper garages and are harness- and pack-compatible
  • Sleek, low-bulk, snag-resistant cuffs with stretch knit provide versatile coverage and comfort
  • Dual-adjust cord-lock system at hem seals in warmth
  • Fair Trade Certified™ sewn
  • 326 g (11.5 oz)

Insulation
Regulator® fleece insulation provides phenomenal compressibility, light weight warmth, and moisture transport, whether used alone or as part of a layering system.

The lofted hollow-core fibers of Regulator fleece insulation conserve body heat while allowing body moisture to wick uninhibited. They’re also lightweight and highly compressible for packing.

Regulator Fleece Insulation provides exceptional breathability to keep you dry on the inside and while Regulator fleece provides the same amount of warmth as a much bulkier fleece, it does so with lighter, more compressible materials. Since you stay both dryer and warmer, you’re able to maintain your comfort over a wide temperature range, which results in fewer layering changes and a lighter, less bulky pack.

Recycled Polyester
In 1993, Patagonia adopted fleece into their product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. They were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR™ clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, Patagonia is able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. They now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn their garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of their clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens Patagonia dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Materials:
5.2-oz 92% polyester (69% recycled)/8% elastane breathable stretch double weave with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.
